Culver Electrics
(1/1)
Keith U.:
I am curious as to the variety and extent of electrical systems installed on your Cadets. I have a '41 LCA project. I am pretty sure it didn't have any electrical system from the factory. I am hoping to leave off the starter and generator, but have nav lights, and was wondering what battery setup or information I could find is being used.
Thanks for the great forum.
Woody:
My 1941 Culver had a radio (which I still have) and running lights. Even though this 90 Franklin is not the original engine, logs state it came out with a 75 I think. It was changed to the 90 in the early 1950's. They all had a starter and generator.
Bill Poynter:
Keith, Are you going to use an A75 or a C75/85 series engine on your Cadet?
Paul Rule:
Here is a .pdf of my electrical system.
Note: I used combination switch / circuit breakers. In most aircraft they are two separate things.
Of course, on a wood airplane all the "ground" symbols have to be wired back to the ground buss.
I mounted a ground buss on the back bulkhead beside the battery box.
