: I fly GPS moving map

need info on the I Fly 700 GPS.  Anyone know anything about these?  I see them for sale slightly used and was wondering if there was something that was lacking with them?  It appears to have most everything that the much more expensive units have and are less expensive also.

I bought an iFly 700 when they were first introduced.  It's attached to the right side of my Cadet panel with Velcro.

The unit does everything the company claims and they continually provide software updates with expanded capabilities.  The annual cost of the data updates is very reasonable.

The only issue I have with it is the narrow screen viewing angle.  Mounting it flat on the right side of the panel makes it hard to read.  It does come with a flexible ball-type mounting fixture, but I haven't wanted to screw it to my panel.

Until I started using the moving map sectional charts I never considered that when in course-up mode, all writing would be upside-down when on a southerly heading.

The viewing angle may be improved on the new 720 model.

Thanks Bill!   This helps to show the mounting stance also.  It seems so much more expensive to go Garman etc if this would do the job and I understand that each has different expectations and needs.
