winging my Culver to KOSH 7/23-25, anyone else going?

Hi Keith,
I won’t be there this year.
There will be quite a few people from the Facebook Culver group but you’ll probably have the only Cadet there.  Post pics!

Check out the April, 2018 EAA Sport Aviation for a photo in completion/restoration.
Just pulled it out of my mailbox and went right to the page first thing, looks great Keith!  So glad you saved it!
Wish I could meet you at KOSH but it is very unlikely for me this year.

Franklin 4AC199 with a W70AB54
It's been a while since I've flown the Culver but as I remember the cruise was around 115-120 mph.  I also can not remember the climb rate but it got in and out of short grass airstrips real well.
I really need to find some time to dedicate to the Culver and put some more hours on her.  Think we could get a couple up to Oshkosh next year?

Looks nice, good luck with the sale!
A landing light?  That must be nice!  Is it mounted in the cowl?  I have only 1 hour of night flight and 1 night landing in my Cadet.  The landing took two attempts with the last 20' of decent in pure darkness, it sure seemed like the runway was several feet lower than the runway lighting...

Modifications / Re: Changes or add on's to the Franklin 90hp engine
« on: July 27, 2016, 12:31:59 AM »
Does anyone know of an FAA approval for the installation of Slick mags on a Franklin 4AC199-E3?

I'm also looking for the correct Marvel Scheibler carburetor for the Franklin 4AC199E3 engine.  I think it's a model MA3 or MA3A, but I'm not sure of the 10-XXXX number.

Hi Bill,

I remembered asking something similar on the carb a few years ago, might help?http://culvercadet.com/simplemachinesforum/index.php?topic=157.msg709#msg709

Hello Andreas,
I may be there Wednesday/Thursday/Friday but with a Mooney M20F (not the Culver unfortunately).
Enjoy your time in the USA!

Hi Woody,
Any luck?  I saw an ad on Barnstormers recently, someone has plans and parts for sale.
I'm not sure, is Neal's son not continuing the sales of the Culver STF plans?
Keep the updates on your project coming!  If there is any information you need on the fuselage, or pictures from another Cadet, let me know.

Culver General Discussion / Re: Oil pressure on Franklin 90
« on: August 07, 2015, 06:54:30 PM »
Thanks for the input Joe.  Does your installation include an oil filter and/or oil cooler?  I have both on my engine and we are beginning to suspect that pressure is reading low because the oil pressure gauge pick up port where the oil returns to the engine is down stream of both.

No, I have no oil cooler or filter installed.

My Franklin 90 registers just under 40 on the gauge when fully warmed up during cruise.

I'm hoping to make a trip down for Saturday/Sunday in the Mooney.  The Culver will be staying home this year.
